Why William Levy Broke Up With Elizabeth Gutierrez: Some Theories

¡Escandalo! Yesterday news broke that William Levy and his wife of 8-years Elizabeth Gutierrez were separating. Queee? Fer realz? Yes. Was William caught cheating? Was it with a teenager? Maite Perroni? JLo? A man?!?! Let's look into this.

William definitely cheated. We know this because Elizabeth's official press release is tactful but telling:

Insistent rumors aside, I've always stood next to William because back then I never had a reason to doubt the strength of our union. I have decided to end this relationship for the well-being of my children and myself. I must confess this wasn't an easy decision, but as a person, a women and a mother, I owe myself respect.

"Back then"??? It's crystal-clear, mijas — William cheated!

Let's look at some of the reasons why this may have happened

1) Maite Perroni & 40 Other Women
The ex-RBD Maite Perroni co-starred in Cuidado Con El Angel with William Levy and Latino press swore by Shanti Ananda that these two were doing it. It was so bad that even Maite's then boyfriend tried to put a stop to 'em rumors. It probably didn't help that William's ex-assistant told TvNotas that William had slept with over 40 women and that Maite was William's "amor de su vida."

2) Levy The Cradle Robber
The Karla Alvarez saga must have been particularly tough on Elizabeth and, to her credit, she took it like a trooper by not saying a word.

In case you don't remember, Karla was the underage intern that accused William of forcing a blowjob on her. Then she posed like the true MySpace ho she is and TvNotas published the images.

The best part of that whole thing was watching Levy's hilarious gringo lawyer give interviews to the Latino press — in Spanish!

Again, Elizabeth took that shit like Hilary Clinton and never said a word.

3) William Levy — A Loca?
This one is far-fetched and we're really just looking for a reason to bring up William's hot gay kiss with David Zepeda but still; this can happen! Elizabeth Gutierrez is a beautiful woman, right? So why would William cheat on her? Maybe because she doesn't have what William really needs: pinga. And seriously, if your man is going to leave your ass wouldn't it be better that it be for another man? It's a little more dignified because, as a woman, you can't compete with a man — you don't have a penis. If your man leaves you for another woman it's probably because he doesn't like your personality or whatever.

Or he's just really promiscuous.

4) Career Jealousy
Lately William has been moving on up in the world: he scored the above music video with JLo, he appeared on the Real Housewives of Miami, and, if random gossip is to be believed, he's about to "take over" Hollywood.

Well, Elizabeth used to be somebody, too. She was getting magazine covers all by herself. But ever since Elizabeth married William and had kids, she's gone from having her own moderate career to being some lady in Miami who's married to a hot Latino. Could Elizabeth be tired of William getting all the attention? Has she decided that being a bored housewife ain't her thing? Maybe.

5) A New Jenni On The Block
Maybe none of the above has anything to do with William and Elizabeth's breakup. Maybe some new 19-year-old puta has everything to do with their separation.

You see, William is currently filming Trinufo De Amor in Mexico City. It's a new novela that Levy is co-starring in with Cuauhtemoc Blanco but apparently William missed some of his scheduled tapings. Todo Para La Mujer's host Maxine Woodside said a reliable source in Miami is certain that William is hooking up with a still-unknown 19-year-old temptress. William supposedly took this little home-wrecker to Cancun and thus missed work.

And you know what? All the signs have been there. Just look over to your left at the cover of last September's TvYNovelas where Levy was busted leaving a strip club. Was this a sign of things to come? No, not a sign — just cold, hard, in-your-face facts.

Salma Hayek: the amazing Mexican woman

The amazing Salma Hayek was born on September 2, 1966, in the oil boomtown of Coatzacoalcos, Mexico. Hayek has freely admitted that she and her brother, Sami, were spoiled rotten by her well-to-do Lebanese-Mexican businessman father and her Mexican-born opera-singing mother. After having seen Willy Wonka & the Chocolate Factory (1971) in a local movie theatre, Salma decided she wanted to become an actress. Her education included a stint at a New Orleans convent school, where she pulled pranks on the nuns by setting their clocks back three hours. She was soon expelled. Only after attending Mexico City's Universidad Iberoamericana did she feel ready to pursue acting seriously.

She soon landed the title role in "Teresa" (1989), a hugely successful soap opera which earned her the star status in her native Mexico. However, anxious to make films and to explore her talent and passion, Hayek left both "Teresa" (1989) and Mexico in 1991. Heartbroken fans spread rumors that she was having a secret affair with Mexico's president and left to escape his wife's wrath.

At long last, Salma made her way to Los Angeles. The 24 year old actress approached Hollywood with naïve enthusiasm, and quickly learned that Latin actresses were, if at all, typecast as the mistress maid or local prostitute. By late 1992, Hayek had landed only bit parts. She appeared on "Street Justice" (1991), "The Sinbad Show" (1993), "Nurses" (1991), and as a sexy maid on the HBO series "Dream On" (1990). She also had one line in the Allison Anders film Mi vida loca (1993). Feeling under-appreciated by Anglo filmmakers, Hayek vented her frustrations on comedian Paul Rodriguez's late-night Spanish-language talk show in 1992.

Robert Rodriguez and his producer wife Elizabeth Avellan happened to be watching and were immediately smitten with the intelligent, opinionated young woman. He soon gave her her big break--to star opposite Antonio Banderas in the now cult classic Desperado (1995), which put her on Hollywood's map. The moviegoers proved to be as dazzled with Hayek as he had been. After her break, she was cast again by Rodriguez to star in his From Dusk Till Dawn (1996). Although her vampy role opposite George Clooney and Quentin Tarantino was a small one, it was a good credit to her box office name. Hayek's first star billing came later that year with Fools Rush In (1997) opposite "Friends" (1994) actor Matthew Perry. The film was a modest hit, and Hayek continued to rise her star in both commercial and artistic films such as: Breaking Up (1997) with an unknown Russell Crowe; 54 (1998) about the rise and fall of the legendary New York club; Dogma (1999), playing the muse in a somewhat odd comedy co-starring Matt Damon and Chris Rock; In the Time of the Butterflies (2001) (TV), the small artistic film which won Hayek an ALMA award as best actress; and the 1999 summer blockbuster Wild Wild West (1999). Her production company "Ventanarosa" produced the 1999 Mexican feature film No One Writes to the Colonel (1999), which was shown at the Cannes Film Festival and selected as Mexico's official Oscar entry for best foreign film.

The new millennium started out quietly around Salma as she was preparing to produce and star in her dream role, that of Frida Kahlo, the legendary Mexican painter whom Salma had been admiring her entire life and whose story she wanted to bring to the big screen ever since her arrival in Hollywood. It finally happened in 2002. Frida (2002), co-produced by Hayek, was a beautifully made film overflowing with passion and enthusiasm, with terrific performances from Salma and Alfred Molina as Kahlo's cheating husband "Diego Rivera". On the side was an entourage of stars including Antonio Banderas, Ashley Judd, Geoffrey Rush, Edward Norton and Valeria Golino.

The picture was a hit and was nominated for six Oscars, including best actress for Hayek, who became the first Latin actress to be nominated in the category, and won the awards for make-up and its brilliant original score by Elliot Goldenthal. Hayek established herself as the serious actress that she is and, in the same year, expanded her horizons, directing The Maldonado Miracle (2003) (TV), which was shown at the Sundance Film festival. In 2003, she starred in the final of Rodriguez's "Desperado" trilogy Once Upon a Time in Mexico (2003), again opposite Banderas, and has just finished After the Sunset (2004) opposite Pierce Brosnan and Ask the Dust (2006) opposite Colin Farrell. Both are scheduled for release in early 2005. In the works are Robert Altman's "Paint" and Bandidas (2006) in which she will star with her friend Penélope Cruz.

15 Mexican Telenovela Stars Too Awesome for American Television

As has been mentioned before, there are some very attractive women on the Mexican tv.  In fact I think Mexicans have a much healthier relationship with televison.  In America people whine about diversity on tv, and false ideals of beauty, and television not depicting reality.

Anyway central to Mexican tv is the telenovela, and you aren't a real Mexican actor/tv personality until you've been on a telenovela.  Now the telenovela is like a soap opera, except it actually has a story with a beginning, middle, and end.  Mexican telenovelas are on every night for five or six months, and then they end and a new one comes on.

There's really no point in ordering them, just letting you know there's 15...

After winning the title, Alicia gained plenty of weight and was forced by pageant owner, Donald Trump, to either lose the weight quickly or she would lose the crown. Many womens' groups attacked Trump's ultimatum, calling it sexist and discriminative, however Trump remained solidly strong behind his words. Within a few months, Alicia lost the wight within a few months and was allowed to keep her crown. Top 5 Latin Flicks at Tribeca Film Fest 2011

1. LIKE WATER
[Feature Documentary; In English, Portuguese with English subtitles]
In this Pablo Croce-directed documentary debut, Like Water tells us about UFC Middleweight Champion Anderson Silva, and gives us a deep look into the life of the fighter, and his life outside the ring. The director, raised in Venezuela, follows Silva in his native home of Brazil, with his wife and three sons, to his training as an ultimate fighter in L.A. and Miami. The film’s focus gets more in depth as we see Silva struggle with the fighter persona, inner strength, and the road to being a champion.

2. BLACKTHORN
[Feature film; In English, Spanish with English subtitles]
We’re really looking forward to Blackthorn. Not just because it’s a western shot in Bolivia set in 1908 (crazy, right?), but because this film is the English-language debut of director Mateo Gil. His name might not ring a bell right off the bat, but this Spanish helmer is mostly known for his extraordinary work as the screenwriter of Vanilla Sky. Gil takes the story of Butch Cassidy and reimagines that he is living in a secluded town under the name James Blackthorn.

3. PICNIC
[Short film; In Serbian with English subtitles]
Director Gerardo Herrero is an old pro at movie making. The Spanish director has been in the movie business since the late ’80s, with most of his work as a director in the mid-90s. He’s considered one of the top Latin directors and movie producers out there. The Secret in Their Eyes, which he produced, won an Academy Award. Surprisingly though, even after all of his successes, his Tribeca entry this year is a short film titled Picnic about a family at picnic while unknowingly a enemy is nearby and waiting for them.

4. MY LAST ROUND
[Narrative; In Spanish with English subtitles]
In My Last Round, we see another film about a fighter, though not at all like Like Water. This narrative film debut, written and directed by Julio Jorquera, tells the story of Hugo, a young man looking for something new. His new adventure lies within Octavio—a boxer that he is in complete lust over, and vice versa. Though as these two enter into a full-fledged romance, the road ahead is anything but roses as they move from an accepting small town in southern Chile to the capital city of Santiago. But that is just the beginning for these two.

5. ARTIFICIAL PARADISES
[Feature Narrative; In Spanish with English subtitles]
Mexican director Yulene Olaizola, (award-winning documentary director of Shakespeare and Victor Hugo’s Intimacies) has created a wanderlust of a film with Artificial Paradises, a story about a companionship between a young woman who’s a drug addict and an old man who is a widower. John Leguizamo: a fast-talking and feisty-looking actor

Jonathan Alberto "John" Leguizamo (born July 22, 1964) is a Colombian-born American actor, producer, voice artist, and comedian.

Fast-talking and feisty-looking John Leguizamo has continued to impress movie audiences with his versatility: he can play sensitive and naïve young men, such as Johnny in Hangin' with the Homeboys (1991); cold-blooded killers like Benny Blanco in Carlito's Way (1993); a heroic Navy SEAL, stopping aerial terrorists in Executive Decision (1996); and drag queen Chi-Chi Rodriguez in To Wong Foo Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar (1995). Arguably, not since ill-fated actor and comedian Freddie Prinze starred in the smash TV series "Chico and the Man" (1974) has a youthful Latino personality had such a powerful impact on critics and fans alike.

Born July 22, 1964, in Bogotá, Colombia, Leguizamo was four when his family emigrated to the United States. He was raised in Queens, New York, attended New York University and studied under legendary acting coach Lee Strasberg for only one day before Strasberg passed away. The extroverted Leguizamo started working the comedy club circuit in New York and first appeared in front of the cameras in an episode of "Miami Vice" (1984). His first film appearance was a small part in Mixed Blood (1984), and he had minor roles in Casualties of War (1989) and Die Hard 2 (1990) before playing a liquor store thief who shoots Harrison Ford in Regarding Henry (1991). His career really started to soar after his first-rate performance in the independent film Hangin' with the Homeboys (1991) as a nervous young teenager from the Bronx out for a night in brightly lit Manhattan with his buddies, facing the career choice of staying in a supermarket or heading off to college and finding out that the girl he loves from afar isn't quite what he thought she was.

The year 1991 was also memorable for other reasons, as he hit the stage with his show Mambo Mouth (1991) (TV), in which he portrayed seven different Latino characters. The witty and incisive show was a smash hit and won the Obie and Outer Circle Critics Award, and later was filmed for HBO, where it picked up a CableACE Award. He returned to the stage two years later with another satirical production poking fun at Latino stereotypes titled Spic-O-Rama (1993) (TV). It played in Chicago and New York, and won the Drama Desk Award and four CableACE Awards.

In 1995 he created and starred in the short-lived TV series "House of Buggin'" (1995), an all-Latino-cast comedy variety show featuring hilarious sketches and comedic routines. The show scored two Emmy nominations and received positive reviews from critics, but it was canceled after only one season. The gifted Leguizamo was still keeping busy in films, with key appearances in Super Mario Bros. (1993), Romeo + Juliet (1996) and Spawn (1997). In 1998 he made his Broadway debut in Freak (1998) (TV), a "demi-semi-quasi-pseudo-autobiographical" one-man show, which was filmed for HBO by Spike Lee.

Utilizing his distinctive vocal talents, he next voiced a pesky rat in Doctor Dolittle (1998) before appearing in the dynamic Spike Lee-directed Summer of Sam (1999) as a guilt-ridden womanizer, as the Genie of The Lamp in the exciting Arabian Nights (2000) (TV) and as Henri de Toulouse Lautrec in the visually spectacular Moulin Rouge! (2001). He also voiced Sid in the animated Ice Age (2002), co-starred alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger in Collateral Damage (2002) and directed and starred in the boxing film Undefeated (2003) (TV). Afterward, Leguizamo starred in the remake of the John Carpenter hit Assault on Precinct 13 (2005) and George A. Romero's long-awaited fourth "Dead" film, Land of the Dead (2005). There can be no doubt that the remarkably talented Leguizamo has been a breakthrough performer for the Latino community in mainstream Hollywood, in much the same way that Sidney Poitier crashed through celluloid barriers for African-Americans in the early 1960s. Among his many strengths lies his ability to not take his ethnic background too seriously but also to take pride in his Latino heritage. He has opened many doors for his countrymen. A masterly and accomplished performer, movie audiences await Leguizamo's next exciting performance..
