Teresa: synopsis

Teresa is a 2010 critically acclaimed Mexican telenovela starring Angelique Boyer as Teresa Chávez Aguirre; with Aarón Díaz, Sebastián Rulli, and Ana Brenda Contreras in co-starring roles. It began airing in Mexico on August 2, 2010, it is a production of José Alberto Castro.

Teresa is a remake of the 1989 telenovela of the same name starring Salma Hayek. The telenovela is also featured as Angelique Boyer's first protagonist role which also won her the "Best Protagonist Role" TVyNovelas Award in 2011. Teresa also began transmitting in the United States on Univision on March 30, 2011 at 8PM central, airing double hours (8PM to 10PM) from April 12, 2011 to May 13, 2011.

Synopsis
Teresa Chávez Aguirre de la Barrera (Angelique Boyer) lives with her mother Refugio Aguirre de Chávez (Silvia Mariscal), her father Armando Chavez Gomez (Juan Carlos Colombo), and her younger sister Rosa Chavez Aguirre (Jessica Segura) (who dies of heart problems) in the vecindad Van Dick 73 in Mexico City. She is a young woman dominated by her own greed, falling in love with money and Mariano. Through her beauty, intelligence, and ambition, she gets what she wants. Her parents have made great sacrifices to give her a good, decent life, but Teresa wants more.

She wants to marry a rich man and have all the money she' s ever dreamt, she goes on seducing her teacher and having him marrying her. However never forgetting her boyfriend Mariano, a honest young man working as taxi driver by night and studying to become a doctor at day time. Meanwhile she seduces her sister-in law's borfriend (Fernando) a playboy and easy to be played with. Having gone through it all and stepped on everybody even separating from her husband, Teresa realises that she loves her husband and tries to win him back.
