Sofia Vergara: a stunning beauty Colombian actress

Sofía Margarita Vergara Vergara (born July 10, 1972) is a Colombian actress, television host, model, and entrepreneur.

Vergara had been widely known for co-hosting two TV shows for Univisión in the late 1990s. Her TV career opened up for her a window of exposure to North American audiences prior to her first notable acting job in English, the 2003 film Chasing Papi. Subsequently, she appeared in films, including two Tyler Perry films, Meet the Browns (2008) and Madea Goes to Jail (2009), receiving an ALMA Award nomination for the latter.

Sofia Vergara is a picture of bronze beauty whose radiant personality and unwavering devotion to family endeared her to Univision viewers when she debuted as host the popular 1995 travel series Fuera de Serie, model/actress Sofía Vergara's crossover appeal was cemented when a memorable performance on the FOX Network's 1995 American Comedy Awards launched her almost instantaneously into Hollywood stardom. Born in Barranquilla, Colombia, to an extended, musically inclined family that included five brothers and sisters in addition to many cousins, quiet and studious Vergara attended the private bilingual school Marymount while dreaming of a future career in dentistry. At the age of 18, Vergara married the man who had been her childhood sweetheart since age eleven, and soon thereafter the young couple gave birth to a baby boy. Thanks to years of hard work and intense studies it appeared as if young Vergara was at last close to realizing her childhood dream of becoming a dentist, though an innocent walk on the beach proved that fate had other things in store for the career-minded beauty. Glimpsed by a well-known photographer as she strolled the shore in her native Colombia, Vergara was soon stepping in front of the cameras to appear in a Pepsi commercial that soon made her a recognizable face across the country.

A move to Bogotá two years later found Vergara making a name for herself on the runway as well as the small screen, and soon the rising starlet's popularity would spread stateside when she accepted an offer to host the globetrotting Univision series Fuera de serie. Her undeniable charm even more infectious on screen than it was in the glossy pages of high fashion magazines, Vergara was an instant hit and soon branched out as host of the weekly prime-time variety-show A Que No Te Atreves. When a brief but memorable performance at the 1995 American Comedy Awards found her appeal reaching even further beyond Spanish-speaking audiences and into the American mainstream, it didn't take long for Hollywood to come calling. In 2002, many American filmgoers got their first look at the up-and-coming actress when Vergara appeared in a supporting role in director Barry Sonnenfeld's ill-fated comedy Big Trouble. Pushed back from its original release date of 2001 due in large to sensitivities resulting from a plot involving a bomb and an airplane, Big Trouble died quickly at the box office before hastily being relegated to life on the home-video market. Though her following two films, Chasing Papi and The 24th Day, didn't fare much better at the box office, Vergara's winning performance in the high-flying 2004 comedy Soul Plane did well in showcasing both her remarkable beauty and impeccable comic timing. Her subsequent role in the animated IMAX film Robots found her stepping behind the cameras for her first voice-over role, though audiences could rest assured that in 2005 Vergara would be back in front of the lens not only in director Catherine Hardwicke's eagerly anticipated Dogtown and Z-Boys companion piece The Lords of Dogtown but the comedies Pledge This! and Grilled as well.

Olavarria's history with pageants started at age 11 when she won her first beauty pageant, "Miss Reina Infantil". When she became 16, she competed in Elite Model Look Puerto Rico.

After graduating from college, Olavarría was headed towards a master's degree in International Relations as well as a career with Elite Model Management when she decided to temporarily change her path in order to participate in the Miss Puerto Rico Universe 2005 pageant, where she won the crown representing the municipality of Salinas in October 2004.

She represented Puerto Rico in the Miss Universe 2005 pageant held in Bangkok, Thailand in May 2005, and became the first Puerto Rican candidate in Miss Universe history to place first runner-up. The winner was Natalie Glebova of Canada. When Glebova was unable to attend the Miss Indonesia 2007 pageant on behalf of the Miss Universe Organization because of Canada's travel ban on Indonesia, Olavarría officially attended in her place.

During the course of her reign, she made many appearances on such television programs such as Don Francisco Presenta, El Gordo y La Flaca, Despierta America, Cotorreando, Primer Impacto, Objetivo Fama, Premios Juventud, and Premios Lo Nuestro.

Given her success in beauty pageants she has been invited to be a judge in several international beauty pageants, along with hosting some of them.

Her hosting career started at an early age when she became the host of Contra el Reloj con Pacheco. After this, she made multiple appearances as a guest host for various television networks in Puerto Rico and many international events, mainly beauty pageants.

In the United States, she has been a presenter at Premios Juventud, Premios Lo Nuestro, and the Billboard Latin Music Awards. She has also served as guest host in Despierta América, Escandalo TV, and Al Rojo Vivo.

In 2007, Univision recruited her to become the official Runway Coach of the hit reality show Nuestra Belleza Latina which airs on the Univision network. There she held an active role in this position for three years total (2007–2010) while also doing work for other Univision sister networks. In February 2010 she moved on to work for Galavision as a news correspondent and co-host of Acceso Maximo.

Cynthia also worked for Univision's rival network Telemundo as the host of Decisiones Puerto Rico, the Puerto Rican adaptation of the Telemundo's series Decisiones. In 2008, she also hosted a Miss Universe special titled “Intimamente con Miss Universo” for Telemundo. The one-hour show follows the steps of Miss Universe 2008, Dayana Mendoza, after winning the title.

Also, in both 2007 and 2008, she joined Mexican singer/actor Fernando Allende to host the Miss World Puerto Rico pageant.

Recently she was also the temporary host of Telemundo's Al Rojo Vivo in November 2010 while she filmed the telenovela Alguien Te Mira (2010).

After finishing her undergraduate studies and returning from Miss Universe, Olavarria began taking acting lessons with actresses Elia Enid Cadilla, Flor Nunez and Sebastian Ligarde in hopes of also becoming an actress. Her television debut was as the protagonist of a mini-series called “Cuando el Universo Conspira” in 2005. Later she made her theater debut by playing a major role as a princess in the child-oriented play “La Princesa de los Ojos Tristes”. In 2006, she appeared in Victor Manuelle and Sin Bandera’s musical video entitled “Maldita Suerte”. In 2007, she landed the protagonist role in the first-ever online telenovela for the Hispanic market, "Mi Adorada Malena", which was produced by Univision and broadcasted on its website. Due to its success, it was later broadcasted nationally on the network. In July 2010 she landed the role of Lucy Saldana in Telemundo's telenovela-thriller Alguien Te Mira (2010). She plays a crazy massage therapist that is obsessed with one of her coworkers and will stop at nothing to destroy his marriage so she can have him. Galilea Montijo: a beautiful Mexican actress

Galilea Montijo was born on June 5, 1973, in Guadalajara, Mexico. Little is known about her childhood, though one can surmise that -- given her stunning beauty and extroverted nature -- she's been drawing attention her entire life. In 1993, at the age of 20, Galilea took her first steps toward fame by entering a prestigious beauty competition called La Chica TV. Her victory there all but assured her a career within the world of Mexican soap operas. Galilea made her television debut on such a program in 1995 with a role on El Premio mayor.

Galilea spent the next several years appearing on a series of popular Mexican soaps, including Azul (1996), Tu y yo (1996) and Tres mujeres (1999). In 1999, Galilea made her film debut with a small role opposite recent Oscar nominee Adriana Barraza in the comedy La Paloma de Marsella. Galilea’s fame continued to rise during that time, and it wasn’t long before she found herself pursued by various production companies and television stations. She was subsequently hired as a host on Mexico’s Ritmoson Latino television network and it wasn’t long before Galilea had established herself as one of the station’s most popular anchors.

Galilea achieved the sort of fame that she had always dreamed of, and it wasn’t long before the up-and-coming television personality was invited to appear on Mexico’s adaptation of Big Brother in 2002. After emerging victorious from the competition, Galilea decided to try her luck at another locally shot reality program. Bailando por un sueño is essentially Mexico’s answer to Dancing with the Stars, as several established celebrities are paired with professional dancers to compete until only one couple remains. Galilea didn’t win the competition, though she did manage to make an indelible impression on viewers with her sultry dancing style.

2006 proved to be an especially fortuitous year for Galilea, as the television personality was invited to appear on the Latin Grammy Awards as a presenter alongside such celebrities as Sofia Vergara, Catalina Sandino Moreno, and Jimmy Smits. She also took on a starring role on the telenovela La Verdad oculta, which unsurprisingly premiered to instant success in her native homeland of Mexico.

But Galilea’s charmed life took a turn for the worse in early 2007 after she found herself embroiled in a sex-tape scandal. Galilea immediately denied that it was her on the tape and indeed, it was eventually revealed that it was not Galilea on the tape, but a porn star named Monique Fuentes.
