Ana Bárbara: a Mexican Latin Grammy Award winner

Ana Bárbara is a Mexican Latin Grammy Award winner, songwriter, producer, and Grammy-nominated recording artist.

Ana Barbara (birth name Altagracia Ugalde Motta) was born on January 10, 1971 in Rio Verde, San Luis Potosi, Mexico. She is a singer and actress.

When she was a child she used to go to her older sister's concerts and soon she started loving music and desiring to be an artist. In 1988 she won the Miss San Luis Potosi­ title. After six years she signed a contract with Fonovisa and released her first album, "Ana Bi¡rbara". She had a long term relationship with Julio Sabala, a famous imitator.

In 1996 she became popular after releasing the single "No Llorare", which was placed on the third position in the Billboard Latin Regional Mexican Airplay chart. On January 27, 2006 she married Jose Maria Fernandez and now the couple has one child. She also has anot
her child from a relationship she had in the past. In 2001 she suffered a great loss after her sister Marissa died in a car accident.

She is considered "the queen of ranchera music, and no one is close to her in that area" according to the Mexican diva, Luci­a Mendez. In 2005 she won a Latin Grammy Award. She travels and has concerts and fans just love her. She is beautiful and any man would like to be in her husband's shoes. In 1993 after a trip to Rome she met the Pope and sang to him. After this he gave her his blessings.
